So I was taking a look at a bunch of godaddy auctions tonight when I noticed a large number of .co’s up for auction that are ending in the next day or two. These are domains that have been dropped by their former owners. The problem is that do you think anyone going to bid on them? There are a ton of great names on the list including a boatload of LLL.co’s. These are not vxw.co domains, they are premium LLL.co’s like tee.co and alot more. It makes me wonder if I should have renewed any of my .co’s.
If any of you guys know me I am a big fan of .co and would hate to see them die out just after 2 years. I can tell you after seeing this list I am very disappointed to see them dropped. It means a few things. People are getting out of the domaining business or they are thinking the value will go down after the new GTLD’s get released. I let a few of my keyword .co’s drop, maybe about 30 of them. I just dont have the money anymore to gamble on them. I think this is the mentality of many .co owners.
If you guys dont mind let us know what you think, Did you let your .co’s drop or did to renew them for another year? I renewed only my best .co’s. I have made enough money in the past selling my .co’s to make a profit but at this moment I havent sold any in about 6 months. If I did sell some of them I will say that I would have put up a large portion of those funds to buy a few killer .coms and make a business out of it.
I have added the list below to show the number of .co’s that are up for auction. I have also added all of the domains that are ending in the next few days so you can see the ratio of .co’s to other GTLD’s. Most of the .co auctions end in the next 14 hours. My favorites are TEE.co, iShop.co, ULTRA.co, YEAR.co, OAK.co, METEOR.co, SPEND.co and many more. There are too many to list. As I said I am stunned.
