“These three standout cities in Northern Virginia contribute to the massive growth in this region’s high-tech center,” said City Brand Media CEO, Fred Mercaldo. “I’ve known Ken Hansen for many years, and we’re pleased to form this agreement with Toll Road Media. These city sites represent highly educated, tech-savvy populations, and we’re elated that they’ll be joining their beltway cousin DistrictOfColumbia.com.”

Tysons Corner, Reston and Herndon have a combined population of 1.1 million (larger metropolitan areas than Boston, Seattle, Detroit and San Francisco), maintain the second highest median income in the nation, and offer over 100 hotels and restaurants.

Tysons Corner alone is home to over 7,000 businesses. Reston is a world-renowned planned community, and includes Reston Town Center with 1 million square feet of shops, restaurants, and workplaces. Herndon, the largest of the 3 cities, is part of the Dulles Technology Corridor, named for its cluster of Fortune 500 companies.

“Toll Road Media acquired TysonsCorner.com, Reston.com and Herndon.com in 2005 in anticipation of the Silver Line Metro connecting D.C. to Dulles Airport,” said Toal Road Media’s Ken Hansen. “With the Metro line now operational in Tysons Corner and Reston, and soon Herndon, the timing could not be better to join with City Brand Media.”

City Brand Media begins development of the three websites immediately, each site offering local content, and providing channels for local and national advertisers to reach consumers and businesses in Northern Virginia.

City Brand Media is an online advertising media and marketing venture established to represent a network of CITY(.)com websites, providing city guides, hyper-local advertising, and syndicated columns. City domain owners are encouraged to contact City Brand Media to calculate potential revenue generation for their web properties.
