The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Makes the Move From cesweb.org to ces.tech
With less than a year to go for the next CES in January 2017, the Consumer Technology Association (parent company of CES) has recently shifted the official CES website from cesweb.org to www.ces.tech.
The annual Consumer Electronics Show, held in Las Vegas is the world’s most renowned technology conference with tech giants including Samsung, LG and Sony amongst others unveiling their latest gadgets every year. The 2016 CES featured a keynote by the respected Dr. Herbert Diess of Volkswagen and the 2016 CES Innovation awards.
“We stand for innovation and the difference made possible by technology. The Consumer Electronics Show is well-known as the world’s foremost innovation event and we’re happy to have settled for a domain that’s more relatable and that conveys what we stand for in a succinct way,” says Jeff Joseph, SVP, Communications and Strategic Relationships, Consumer Technology Association.
Though CES has been around since 1967, it’s only since 2012 that they’ve showcased early and mid-stage startups on the show floor. The trend has gained momentum since then and CES’16 showcased over 800 startups in the Eureka Park and University Innovations marketplaces. This show saw over 170,000 attendees from across the globe.
The .TECH domain extension is specific to the tech industry, giving startups and businesses an opportunity to give their URL an identity that resonates with their target group, leaving them with greater visibility and higher brand recall.
Radix (Radix FZC) is a portfolio Registry for new domain extensions and has secured uncontested registry rights to .TECH, .ONLINE, .STORE, .SPACE, .SITE, .PRESS, .HOST and .WEBSITE.
