GoDaddy becomes first to provide ecommerce sites with built-in McAfee SECURE certification to reassure website visitors
SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–TrustedSite, the leader in building website visitor trust and operator of the McAfee SECUREservice, and GoDaddy, Inc., the world’s largest technology provider dedicated to small businesses, have partnered to bundle McAfee SECURE certification into GoDaddy’s Online Store service.
“We are excited to work with GoDaddy’s Online Store customers to help reassure visitors their site is secure. Now more than ever, small merchants need to build trust with their customers and we look forward to helping GoDaddy ecommerce sites do just that at no added cost.”
GoDaddy’s Online Store enables small businesses to easily build professional looking stores and start selling in less than a few hours. The McAfee SECURE service tests and certifies sites as safe, allowing websites to market the security and safety of their website to visitors by displaying the McAfee SECURE trustmark.
With the recent spike in online security breaches, many Internet users are hesitant to engage with websites they are unfamiliar with. Displaying the McAfee SECURE certification trustmark is proven to ease consumer security concerns, resulting in lower shopping cart abandonment rates and increased sales.
With the integration, GoDaddy customers can easily activate the McAfee SECURE trustmark from their user dashboard, allowing them to display it on their online store and market their site as safe to visitors. In addition to displaying the trustmark, GoDaddy customers receive weekly security scans and a listing in the McAfee SECURE web directory. The service is free for the first 500 trustmark views each month. Once the 500 monthly views are exceeded, GoDaddy customers have the option of upgrading to McAfee SECURE Certification Pro.
“Small businesses that run ecommerce stores need to provide their customers with the highest level of confidence that the website is secure,” said GoDaddy Online Store Head of Product Sandeep Grover. “We’ve built Online Store to be secure so the end customers and visitors can shop confidently on these small business ecommerce stores.
